Green H2 Partnership

De-Risking the $11 Trillion Hydrogen Opportunity

The Green Hydrogen Partnership (GH2P) is a commercial initiative resolving the critical technical and economic uncertainties limiting cost-effective green hydrogen from intermittent renewables. The GH2P is open to key equipment suppliers and energy industry stakeholders.

The Problem

The Technical Imperative

Current green hydrogen systems suffer from diminished profitability and elevated costs due to inefficient integration with fluctuating renewable power.

Problem
Intermittent Power
Traditional H₂ System
High Costs & Asset Wear

1. Reduced Asset Utilisation (HPE)

Frequent start-stop cycles and rapid power ramping dramatically lower electrolyser utilisation rates and Hydrogen Production Efficiency (HPE), undermining ROI.

2. Excessive OpEx & Component Wear

Traditional equipment is not optimised for varying electrical loading, leading to accelerated component degradation, high maintenance and reduced system lifetime.

3. System Integration & Balancing Risk

A critical gap exists in affordable, integrated designs that can stabilize electrolyser input and guarantee consistent H₂ output, making it difficult to meet end-user supply.

The Solution

A Validated, Integrated System Design

The GH2P has developed a novel system leveraging BPP’s integration expertise and PNDC’s advanced testing to turn intermittent power into a competitive advantage. The solution will be engineered further in this project.

Solution
Intermittent Power
GH₂ Integrated System
Stable H₂ Output + Grid Services

Novel System Architecture

Development and validation of advanced power electronics and intelligent control systems that enable robust, reliable operation under highly variable load profiles.

System De-Risking & Certification

Utilizing PNDC’s state-of-the-art facility to simulate real-world variable profiles (3kW–15kW scale), certifying component durability and quantifying efficiency gains.

Dual Revenue Streams

The system will function as both a hydrogen producer and a flexible energy sink, generating revenue through grid services and maximising renewable energy use.

Commercial Deployment Pathway

Translating validated engineering data into a detailed deployment roadmap for a commercial-scale industrial pilot (150kW–1.25 MW).

Quantifying the ‘Dual Revenue’ Advantage

For Our Partners

Strategic Value Proposition

This is a targeted opportunity for equipment suppliers and industrial end-users.

Partnership

Market Access & First-Mover Advantage

Validate your core equipment as commercially viable and variable-load certified within the flexible green hydrogen segment. This certification opens new, de-risked market categories and provides a significant competitive edge.

IP & Strategic Insight Sharing

Contribute to, and gain shared access to, the core System Intellectual Property (IP) and all resulting Techno-Economic Models. This verified data is crucial for accurate LCOH calculation and high-confidence investment decisions in targeted markets.

De-Risked R&D Investment

Leverage PNDC’s accredited, controlled testing facilities to rapidly de-risk technology performance under simulated conditions. This minimises private capital expenditure on early-stage validation and reduces time-to-market for next-generation products.

Cost Reduction & Efficiency Gain

Direct access to data on optimised system architectures allows suppliers to refine their product designs for lower OpEx (reduced component wear), higher utilisation and extended system lifetime, significantly improving end-customer value.

Future Funding & Deployment Pathway

Position your organisation at the forefront of securing follow-on funding for the first 1.25 MW industrial pilot, accelerating the transition from laboratory validation to commercial deployment.

Collaborative Leadership

Establish your brand as a defining leader in flexible hydrogen technology alongside other key, influential industry partners, shaping the future of the green hydrogen market.

The Plan

Investment Structure & Roadmap

Our three-phase approach is based on a contribution model (funds and in-kind expertise).

Roadmap
Phase 1 (6 Months)

Foundation & Design

Define the technical scope, testing plan and commercially viable system architecture.

Phase 2 (10 Months)

Validation & De-Risking

Controlled testing at PNDC (3-15kW scale) simulating variable profiles to refine the design.

Phase 3 (14 Months)

Commercial Model & Deployment

Translate validated results into a large-scale deployment plan (150kW – 1.25MW pilot).

Partner with GH2P

We invite equipment suppliers, system integrators and industrial energy leaders to partner with GH2P.
